The McGuinness Institute is interested in contributing to the work that is already being done around the country to excite young kiwis to aspire to greater things. We believe a key part of this is fostering a greater sense of pride in our own national story and demonstrating to young people that
New Zealand has a history of strong and inspiring leadership.
Nation Voices is an upcoming book by Wendy McGuinness that will serve as a companion to the Institute’s previous book Nation Dates: Significant events that shaped the nation of New Zealand.
Nation Voices will use the lens of character and oratory to examine our nation’s 40 premiers and prime ministers. We want New Zealanders to feel that they know these men and women and it is our hope that this book will encourage young people to learn more about our nation’s past and identify with local historic figures.
